Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Operate imaging equipment proficiently to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures performed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret images and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology, including PET scans and mammography.
- Assist in urgent care settings as needed, providing timely imaging services for trauma cases at Level I Trauma Centers.
Qualifications
- Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Experience with various imaging modalities such as sonography, PET scans, and mammography is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions during diagnostic evaluations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for patients undergoing imaging procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly in urgent care settings.
