Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort
- Support physicians with procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when needed
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by entering accurate patient data and updating medical records in real-time
- Conduct ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses to facilitate billing and insurance processing
- Assist with specimen collection, basic laboratory tasks, and maintaining sterile environments in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring a positive experience across various specialties such as geriatrics or internal medicine
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings like hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology, or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology principles
- Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding practices for accurate documentation
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or OR experience are a plus
- Experience working within hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform intake procedures, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and specimen collection with precision
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and inpatient care procedures including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care in diverse clinical settings
