Operating Room Registered Nurse

Premier Health currently serves patients in 14 locations throughout Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties in NJ and Pike County, PA.

Our multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgical Center located in Northwestern NJ (Sussex County) is seeking a motivated, dedicated, part time Operative RN to circulate for General Surgery and Pain Management cases.

Qualifications:

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current RN license

· Current BLS/ACLS

· Minimum two years of Operating Room experience in an outpatient ASC or Hospital setting required.

· Availability Monday and Wednesday a MUST.

Duties:

· Participate as a team member in support of the total perioperative process.

· Organizes time, equipment, supplies and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management.

· Performs the circulating nurse’s role and functions following approved operating room procedures to meet the requirements of the scheduled procedure.

· Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies and instruments before the start of the procedure and positions and adjusts the equipment as required during the procedure.

· Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist anesthesia personnel by supporting the patient during administration of anesthesia.

· Transport patients to the OR observing policies/procedures, safety requirements and patient needs.

· Identify the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure and communicate such information to all members of the surgical team.

· Monitor compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.

· Reviews and document patient care records and other forms accurately.

· Review patient’s medical records/needs to plan care with other healthcare team members.

· Provides comfort and reassurance to the patient.

· Always maintain patient’s privacy and dignity.
