Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Hybrid Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Flint, MI. This role combines clinical support with administrative responsibilities, including front-office tasks and billing assistance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support at all times.
- Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs and medical histories, creating HPI data in advance of patient visit
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to assist in daily patient flow.
- Support providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems.
- Additional clinical duties as assigned.
- Greet and check in patients, verify insurance eligibility, point of service copay/ balance collections, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Manage patient check-out, including processing payments and scheduling follow-up visits.
- Answer and direct phone calls, addressing patient inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain organized patient files and office supplies.
- Assist with insurance verifications and pre-authorizations.
- Prepare and submit billing claims to insurance companies.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all regulatory requirements related to billing practices.
- Other support duties as assigned.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with front-office operations in a medical setting.
- Knowledge of medical billing codes and insurance processes.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $17–$20 per hour, commensurate with experience
