The Commercial Lines Business Consultant (CBC) supports our independent agents in all aspects of developing a thriving commercial practice. The goal is to train and guide the independent agent so that they develop the competence and confidence to prospect, quote, issue, and service commercial insurance business. This is a dynamic role, requiring a solid knowledge of commercial insurance business development, carrier products and services, risk management, and claims processes as well as team building and coaching skills. The successful CBC will train independent agents in commercial insurance coverage lines, strategic prospecting, carrier submissions processes and quoting portals, issuing policies and onboarding of clients, best-in-class client service, and claims advocacy. This fast-paced position requires skilled organization, time management, and strong communication and persuasion skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome new independent agents to PGI and promote the benefits of developing a commercial practice
- Business planning with PGI agents regarding prospecting and carrier alignment
- Build a carrier portfolio for the PGI agent to support their prospecting strategy
- Train agents on information gathering, submissions and quoting processes
- Train PGI agents on the process of quoting, issuing and binding
- Support PGI agents' evaluation of coverages and carrier proposals
- Provide guidance on risk placement, issuance and on-boarding clients, as well as general policy servicing, including endorsements, renewals, and claims
- Advise PGI agents of claims processes and resolutions
- Provide risk management and loss control training, connecting with offered carrier services
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Principles and practices of the commercial insurance industry including Coverage Lines, Carrier Appetites, submission processes, quote review, policy issuance and service, claims processing, loss control, and risk management
- Principles of Sales and Service including Business planning, prospecting, presenting, and closing techniques, client onboarding, service and retention
- Commercial Insurance Carriers including ever changing appetites, products (policies and unique coverage forms), quoting & servicing portals
- PGI policies and procedures
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
- Problem solving and conflict resolution
- Computers and applicable software (EZLynx, Monday.com)
- Research and analysis

- Learn multiple carrier systems
- Think outside of the box and develop tools for Independent Agents
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public

- Plan and devise meetings and work plans
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- High school diploma/GED
- Active Colorado P&C license
- Two (2) years of Commercial Lines insurance experience in either a sales or service position
- One (1) year of experience in a consulting or advising role within the insurance industry
- Insurance related designation (such as CIC, CISR, CRM, AAI, CPCU or other)
- Five (5) years combined of both commercial sales and/or service experience

- $65,000 - $75,000 (additional bonus opportunities)
