What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training and Compliance Manager position at Premier Food Safety?
About the Role
Premier Food Safety develops ANAB-accredited food handler training used by several thousand workers across the country. We're looking for a Training and Compliance Manager to our eLearning programs end to end — the instructional design, the course content, and the accreditation compliance that keeps them recognized by state and county health authorities.
You will be responsible for building and updating courses, as well as serving as the Compliance Officer for eLearning programs, independently leading our annual accreditation assessments.
This is a Full-time position from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM PST Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
What You'll Do
• Develop, update, and maintain our training programs, courses, educational materials, and certification exams — from learning objectives through storyboards, assessments, and published course packages.
• Serve as Compliance Officer for our eLearning programs, overseeing compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Independently lead preparation of all documentation and reports for annual compliance audits and assessments.
• Monitor changes to regulatory, accreditation, and industry standards, and proactively update courses, policies, procedures, and supporting documentation to stay compliant.
• Own quality assurance and continuous improvement across all eLearning programs — periodic compliance reviews, corrective action tracking, program effectiveness evaluation, and improvements driven by assessment findings and learner feedback.
• Provide leadership in instructional design and delivery.
• Partner with product, engineering, and subject matter experts so training content and product development stay aligned.
• Actively participate in scheduled virtual meetings for collaboration, reporting, and compliance discussions, including Google Ads marketing meetings and IT-related meetings.
What You'll Bring
Required
• Experience authoring eLearning in SCORM-compliant tools (Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent), including packaging and troubleshooting SCORM 1.2 / 2004 delivery.
• Working knowledge of accreditation, certification, or regulatory audit processes for training programs — including audit documentation and annual surveillance. (ANSI National Accreditation Board / ASTM E2659 experience is a strong plus.)
• Solid instructional design fundamentals: learning objectives, assessment blueprinting, and item writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a program calendar, and hold a deadline without being managed to it.
• Clear written communication — much of this job is documentation that an auditor will read.
Preferred
• Food safety, public health, or other regulated-industry training background.
• LMS administration and configuration experience.
• Experience working with state or county regulatory agencies on program approval.
• Spanish-language content development or translation review.
