Shipping/Receiving Clerk

I. Summary

A shipping/receiving clerk works in a warehouse environment and is responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, and keeping accurate records. On the shipping side, they package items, print labels, weigh packages, and determine appropriate postage.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

2. Collaborates and communicates with logistics and production managers, production leads, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.

3. Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

4. Responsible for FedEx, UPS, and international shipments

5. Promptly unloads/loads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.

·          Inspect parts.

·          Place parts in proper location.

·          Receive the order in Shopkeeper & drop off packing slip into A/P inbox.

6. Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.

7. Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

8. Prepare parts for shipment.

·          Palletize parts when necessary.

·          Wrapping, banding pallets when needed.

·          Label inventory as needed 

9. Organize and submit job travelers when necessary.

10. Organize, clean, and restock packing materials.

11. Moving parts in warehouse to keep warehouse in an organized manner

12. Operate within job safety guidelines.

13. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

III. Qualifications

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

2. Good written and verbal communication skills

3. Computer Skills (Excel, Word)

4. Must be detail oriented

5. Strong sense of time organization and urgency

6. Able to work independently and within a team

7. Logistics and customer service experience

8. Must be able to operate the following:

· Forklift

· Pallet jack

· Hand Truck

· Stretch Wrap

9. Ability to handle parts in a careful and consistent manner.

IV.  Physical Requirements

1.      Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.

2.      Must be able to traverse warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.

3.      Frequent movement of the arms and hands in a consistent motion.

4.      Must be able to travel/work within Premier Coatings, facilities at beginning of shift and/or during working hours.

V. Working Conditions

1. No specific safety equipment is necessary; however, safety equipment may include but is not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, gloves.

3. Majority of duties are performed inside the shop except when required to use Shopkeeper.

4. Due to warehouse work, extreme temperatures are common; must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
