As a Tax Director, you’ll take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing sophisticated tax engagements, deepening client partnerships, and steering business expansion. You’ll lead a team of talented professionals, champion technical precision, and identify new opportunities that drive both client success and firm growth. The ideal candidate is an influential advisor with a strategic mindset, proven leadership experience, and a passion for delivering excellence in every client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand revenue within existing client relationships through proactive service and strategic insights.
- Lead short-term and long-term business planning, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to firm-wide objectives.
- Manage practice performance, meeting goals related to billing, realization, and individual charge hours.
- Develop and execute a personal marketing and business development plan, including new client acquisition and cross-serving existing clients.
- Serve as a key client contact, maintaining strong relationships and acting as a trusted business advisor.
- Ensure quality control standards are consistently met across all engagements.
- Oversee and mentor staff, managing engagement teams and supporting professional development.
- Act as an internal technical advisor and Subject Matter Expert on complex tax issues.
- Participate as a member of the Senior Operations Management Team, contributing to strategic decisions and firm leadership.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture, supporting collaboration and alignment with management goals.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
- At least 6 years of supervisory experience with proven leadership and staff development capabilities.
- Active CPA license or equivalent certification required.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in applicable tax and accounting technologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated integrity, client service excellence, and business acumen.
- Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
Salary: $250,000
