Premier Earthworks is a growing commercial construction company specializing in excavation, underground utilities, grading, and site development throughout Oklahoma and Texas. We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable accounting professional to help maintain accurate financial records and support the day-to-day accounting functions of our business.
Position Summary
The Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining our accounting records in QuickBooks, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial data. This position works closely with company leadership and plays an important role in maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices and payments
- Prepare and monitor accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections, and payment postings
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare weekly and monthly revenue reports
- Assist with job costing and project financial tracking
- Maintain vendor and customer account records
- Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare documentation for CPA and tax reporting
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow reporting, and other financial projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Construction accounting experience and job costing preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
- Construction accounting or job costing experience preferred
