Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining an aseptic environment following infection control protocols
• Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize 3D scanners to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental wellness
• Monitor vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety during procedures
• Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out

Skills

• Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding for effective communication and record management
• Experience with chairside assisting across diverse specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Skilled in taking X-rays, utilizing 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging techniques with attention to detail
• Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety
• Ability to perform vital signs assessment and understand medical terminology relevant to dental care
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working effectively with children in a clinical setting
