Jr. Chemist
Department: Fluids Lab
Location: Houston, Texas
DESCRIPTION:
Conduct laboratory testing as directed. Once presented with a proposed project the chemist will establish a thorough, planned approach, define and carry out appropriate experiments, interpret results and present the data to the appropriate project manager. Document and communicate information to all applicable personnel and supervisors.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Premier Corex.
- Communicate and implement Hygiene Chemical policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Coordinate the efficient use of all resources at the laboratory; includes staff direction, equipment utilization, and project assignments.
- Plan and complete assigned projects per plan.
- Implements best practices on testing procedures.
- Implements best practices on calibration of equipment.
- Source and evaluate products and generate test data.
- Work on assigned projects compiling data for analysis.
- Deliver continuous improvement in laboratory safety, equipment maintenance and SOP’s.
- Work with external laboratories for non-standard testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree or in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office desktop applications
