Lead Estimator – Concrete Construction

Premier Concrete Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator / Senior Estimator to manage estimating and competitive bidding for concrete construction projects throughout New Jersey and New York.

We are specifically looking for a professional with hands-on estimating experience working directly for a concrete construction contractor or structural concrete subcontractor.

The ideal candidate will be capable of independently preparing accurate, competitive estimates for structural cast-in-place concrete projects, including foundations and superstructures.

This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator to take ownership of the bidding process and contribute directly to securing new projects.

• Independently prepare and manage competitive estimates and bids for structural concrete construction projects.
• Develop detailed estimates for cast-in-place concrete foundations, slabs, columns, walls, and superstructures.
• Prepare complete project pricing, including labor, materials, equipment, formwork, reinforcing steel, subcontracted scopes, overhead, and indirect costs.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, bid packages, and project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, labor productivity calculations, cost analyses, and bid comparisons.
• Evaluate construction methods, project schedules, site conditions, and potential estimating risks.
• Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
• Manage multiple bid opportunities and meet submission deadlines.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, negotiations, and project handoffs.
• Maintain estimating records, historical pricing, and cost data.
• Assist in identifying new bidding opportunities and supporting relationships with general contractors and construction managers.

• Proven estimating experience directly with a concrete construction contractor or structural concrete subcontractor.
• Demonstrated experience independently preparing and pricing competitive bids for cast-in-place concrete construction.
• Strong knowledge of structural concrete foundations, slabs, columns, walls, superstructures, formwork, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement operations.
• Ability to prepare complete concrete estimates, including labor productivity, materials, equipment, and indirect costs — not just quantity takeoffs.
• Experience managing estimates from initial bid review through final proposal submission.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

• Previous experience as a Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator, Estimating Manager, or Chief Estimator.
• Experience estimating structural concrete projects in the New York and New Jersey construction markets.
• Established relationships with general contractors, construction managers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Experience coordinating or mentoring other estimators.
• Background in concrete field operations, project management, change orders, or cost control.
• Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience supporting business development and securing new concrete construction contracts.
