Premier Community Supports is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support for Individuals with developmental disabilities, so that they can live as independent a life as possible. As a DSP you will be assisting the Individual in maintaining and/or developing the skills necessary to complete daily activities of living, in their home, and actively engage with their community. You will provide support with goals based on the Individual’s Individual Support Plan (ISP) with consideration to their preferences and also acts as an advocate in supporting an Individual to express themselves, communicate their needs, and articulate their dreams and goals.
Essential Duties:
- Assist the Individual to meet their needs based on supports identified within their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Develop an effective support relationship
- Provide person-centered supports that recognize the rights of each Individual and help them to live the life they choose
- Ability to identify reportable incidents and make sound decisions
- Assist Individual with daily personal care, including bathing, toileting, and dressing as needed
- Collaborate with families and support team members to help provide the best opportunities
- Support Individual with basic housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, laundry, and tidying
- Help plan appointments and organize Individual’ schedules
- With training, support the administration of medications if applicable
- Assist Individual with shopping for groceries and/or with preparing meals
- Support Individual to budget and shop for items they need and/or want
- Help Individual arrange and participate in social, recreational, and other community activities based on their preferences and choices
- Ensure that the required documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations and standards
Schedule:
- Schedule based on Individual needs
- Flexible (Day shift, Evening shift, Night shift, Weekends)
- Overtime available upon approval
Premier Offers:

- Premier pays for 24 hours of required annual training (CPR/First Aid Training, OIS, if applicable)
- PT & FT DSPs accrue up to 40 hours of PTO (paid time off) per year
- PTO cash out option after 1 year
- No cost health plan available for DSPs who work more than 26 hours per pay period
- Dental & Vision for FT DSPs after 6 months of employment and Premier pays 50%
- Paid 1st and 16th of each month
Qualifications:
- Must pass a criminal records background check performed by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ORCHARDS)
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with the I/DD Community or minimum 1-year caregiving experience or related experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid Training (will provide paid training if applicable)
- Reliable transportation to/from work
- Ability to transport an Individual in personal vehicle for community outings, errands, and more, if applicable
- Oregon Intervention System (OIS) training if required (will provide paid training)
- Be comfortable around animals

The Direct Support Professional position will typically work in a home environment with occasional work outside and in small, enclosed spaces. Frequent sitting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more (depending on support needs of the Individual). Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, crawling, walking, driving, traveling, kneeling and crouching. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and seeing while driving.

$23-$26 per hour
