About Premier Community Supports

Premier Community Supports is a growing, compassionate leader in person-centered in-home and community services—covering everything from day programming and positive behavior support to around-the-clock residential care. With a passionate team of over 2,200 professionals and a foundation built on integrity, quality, and genuine care, we empower individuals and partners through collaborative, customized support.

As an organization still developing our internal structures and systems, we thrive on innovation and proactive problem-solving. If you’re energized by building frameworks from the ground up, driven by impact, and passionate about meaningful teamwork—you’ll find a dynamic, purpose-driven home here.

About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll be the heart of the home assisting residents with daily living, helping build skills, ensuring safety, and making each day meaningful. On any given shift you will:

  • Support residents’ chosen lifestyles by helping with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility)
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean, safe, home-like environment
  • Accompany residents in the community for appointments, social outings, employment training, recreation, and errands
  • Implement individualized support plans (Person-Centered Plans, Behavior Support Plans) and document notes, incident reports, progress updates
  • Observe health and behavioral changes, collaborate with clinical and management teams, and advocate for resident needs and rights
  • Promote social inclusion, skill-building, independence, and community connection
  • Work collaboratively with your team to foster a nurturing, respectful, and high-quality environment
  • Provide weekend, evening or overnight coverage as part of the schedule (depending on your shift)

Skills & Competencies

  • Person-centered thinking and practice: recognizing the strengths, preferences, goals of each resident and supporting autonomy.
  • Ability to encourage skill-building (daily living, social, community, employment) rather than simply doing tasks for the resident.
  • Conflict resolution/de-escalation, behavior support implementation (if applicable).
  • Reliable time management, organization, multitasking and problem-solving.
  • Warmth and professionalism in interacting with residents, families, staff, and external service providers.

Work Environment

  • Required Schedule: Includes both live-in (sleeping) shifts and regular day shifts. (Exact clock-in/out times may vary based on when you are available to work)
  • Residential home (group home) environment with up to 3 residents.
  • Regular interaction with residents with varying levels of ability and support needs; may involve physical assistance and behavior support.
  • Travel in the community (i.e., to appointments, activities) required.
  • Adherence to safety, health, and regulatory standards at all times.
Requirements:

Experience & Qualifications

We value attitude, compassion, and growth. Here’s what helps you succeed:

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Clean background check, drug screening, and health screening (in line with state requirements)
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and good documentation
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, assisting residents with mobility or transfers (where applicable).
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, positive attitude, ability to motivate and support people toward greater independence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends, nights, holidays), depending on house staffing needs.
  • Preferred: Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), mental health conditions, and challenging behaviors.
  • Required: Certifications in CPR/First Aid, crisis intervention/de-escalation, medication administration. (We will provide this training if needed).

What We Offer

  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • A fulfilling role where your work truly makes a difference
  • A collaborative team environment with supportive leadership and meaningful peer relationships

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Feel valued every day knowing you’re helping individuals live their best lives
  • Join a team that cares about each other and supports growth and wellbeing
  • Be part of a home-like setting—not just “a job” but a community
