Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with CPA certification or IRS Enrolled Agent designation to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and estate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Conduct detailed tax research on issues such as tax law, securities law, and regulatory compliance accounting to support client filings
- Manage financial statement preparation, including balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and financial report writing
- Perform auditing procedures and assist with internal controls
- Provide expert guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, and non-profit accounting strategies
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Drake and other financial software to streamline bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes
- Analyze financial data for mergers & acquisitions, asset management, private equity investments, and financial planning initiatives
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax reporting requirements, debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial concepts
Experience
- Proven accounting and finance experience with a strong background in public accounting or corporate accounting environments
- Extensive knowledge of tax compliance, tax law, individual tax preparation, and regulatory reporting standards
- Hands-on experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Drake or similar platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, account reconciliation, budgeting, and financial statement interpretation
- Familiarity with securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), non-profit accounting practices, and asset management is a plus
- Strong analysis skills combined with excellent client communication abilities to explain complex financial concepts clearly
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of accounting tasks
