Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC/R Service Technician with specialized chiller experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex HVAC and refrigeration systems, with a focus on chillers and ammonia refrigeration units. Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC/R systems, including chillers, refrigeration units, boilers, and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct field service operations on HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing equipment to assess electrical components and system performance.
- Repair or replace mechanical components such as motors, pumps, valves, welders, and piping—covering plumbing, refrigeration, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed; communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding system status and repairs.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to ensure continuous operation and energy efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R environments with a strong focus on chillers and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Skilled in equipment repair including boilers, appliances, pumps, motors, welding techniques, and electrical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with field service procedures across commercial or industrial settings; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in plumbing, refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and property maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a
driver vehicle safely. - Certifications or experience related to ammonia refrigeration systems; familiarity with OSHA safety standards is preferred.
