Job Overview:
As a Purchasing Director you will lead the purchasing department and manage all aspects of product procurement. You will establish and implement purchasing policies, monitor inventory and supply forecasts, negotiate freight rates, and mitigate tariffs. You will ensure accurate tracking of landed costs for imported goods and develop systems to improve purchasing processes.
You will lead and manage 2–3 employees in the purchasing department, establishing day-to-day purchasing policies and procedures while monitoring global trade policy changes and implementing tariff mitigation strategies. You will forecast inventory and supply needs to maintain proper stock levels, negotiate freight rates, and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team management abilities, be detail-oriented and analytical, and demonstrate a proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
Your primary goals will be to maintain accurate supply forecasts, ensure precise tracking of landed costs, implement and optimize purchasing systems and processes, and improve overall procurement efficiency and accuracy. Success will be measured by the accuracy of supply forecasts and landed cost tracking, maintaining inventory levels to avoid stockouts, the successful implementation of purchasing systems, and cost savings achieved through negotiation and freight optimization.
Background Profile:
- 10 years of experience in a purchasing leadership role
- Experience in inventory supply forecasting, imported goods and negotiation with freight carriers both international and domestic
- BA degree is preferred

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
