Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice by ensuring timely and accurate billing.
Duties
- Process patient billing information accurately using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes.
- Review and verify patient medical records to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any outstanding claims.
- Conduct medical collections for unpaid bills, working with patients to resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient data efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
- Ensure all billing processes align with industry standards and best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, including familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records management and coding practices is essential.
- Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for efficient workflow management.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
