What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at PREMIER ALUMINUM?
Base Pay: $20 , based on relevant experience
Work Hours: 10am - 8pm, Monday - Thursday
Primary Functions
Prepare domestic and international shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. Receive incoming materials and check received goods against receiving papers.
Duties and Overall Responsibilities
- Prepare shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications
- Assemble and check orders, do packing and crating, attach shipping instructions
- Receive all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods
- Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving papers
- Check quantity, type, size, part numbers, dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials
- Route or deliver materials to storage, manufacturing locations or appropriate department
- Administer outgoing and incoming shipping transactions using the Guardian system, as directed by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
- Load and unload trucks with various material handling equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position require intermittent walking, standing, bending, sitting, and lifting not to exceed 50. The Shipper/Receiver should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
Skills and Experience
- Basic math skills – counting, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division
- Clear and legible handwriting
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to learn internal computer systems for tracking shipments
- At least six months shipping/receiving experience in an manufacturing environment
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fork truck training and license required
- Valid driver’s license (for occasional local delivery and pick up of parts and other supplies)
