JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible to ensure patient vials are prepared in accordance with AAAAI guidelines and as per practice standards. It requires vials to be distributed to all offices in a timely fashion. Maintain good internal customer service by supporting staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Vial Technician include, but are not limited to, the following items:
- Demonstrate Core Values of Above & Beyond, Adaptability, Positivity and Compassion in performing all aspects of the position
- Follow vaccine recipes to mix patient vials for immunotherapy treatments
- Preparation of patches, venom testing, penicillin testing, aspirin desensitization, medication challenge or any other specialty testing.
- Oversee distribution of vials to locations
- Check reminders and emr documents. Follow up and perform duties as needed.
- Oversee vial inventory to include; mixing serums, specialty testing serum and requisitions from each office location
- Adhere to relevant guidelines per AAAAI and ACAI; annual skill checks. Updated USP 797 regulations.
- Educate providers and staff on the IT process
- Understand skin testing and vial functions in EMR to monitor and update Ex: read/interpret immunotherapy vials to include in patient charts
- Perform all tasks related to billing for production of vials
EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Relevant Experience
- Medical Office/Pharmacy Experience
Desired
- Allergy and Immunotherapy Knowledge
COMPENSATION
Pay based on experience and qualifications
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
