Plastic Surgery Patient Care Coordinator will act as the primary liaison between patients and the surgeon, guiding their journey from initial consultation, to scheduling surgery, through postoperative care appointment to ensure a seamless and smooth experience for every patient.
This candidate will manage scheduling, help explain procedures, handle financial quotes and contracts, and drive practice revenue through high-level service.
Key responsibilities and functions include:
- Patient Education & Support: Acting as the main point of contact, building rapport, and educating patients on surgical procedures and pre/post-operative instructions.
- Administrative & Scheduling: Managing the consultation process, booking surgery dates, handling patient records, emailing patients, communicating efficiently with scheduling, surgery centers, and performing data entry in EMR systems.
- Financial & Sales Management: Quoting surgical fees, managing payment schedules, handling insurance verification, and converting leads into booked procedures.
- Practice Operations: Ensuring a seamless patient experience ("white-glove service") and supporting the marketing and administrative needs of the practice.
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office, particularly plastic surgery, aesthetics, or dermatology, is often necessary.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, sales aptitude, organizational skills, and professionalism.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is usually the minimum requirement, though relevant experience is prioritized.
