What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Premier 1 Trucking LLC?
We are looking for a detail-oriented dispatcher with knowledge in the transportation industry to dispatch our drivers. In this role, your duties will include communicating with our CS team, planning and adjusting routes, as well as scheduling drivers to deliver or collect freight.
We are seeking someone with experience in dispatching trucks and the ability to work under pressure.
Dispatcher Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling drivers to make on time pickups and deliveries
- Communicating with customer service and brokers about load updates and delays on a timely manner
- Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
- Maintaining records of dispatched calls, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
- Reviewing drivers’ trip jackets and paperwork
- Monitoring transit times and driver mileage
- Coordinating relays on needed freight
- Updating McLeod with order entries, pickup and delivery date and times, load assignments, and extra pays.
Experience with McLeod software preferred but not required.
Dispatch works every 3rd weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 12 pm
