Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Position Title: Nurse Practitioner
Schedule: Part-Time, up to 3 days per week
Location: ClaraVita Medical
Reports to: Medical Director, in collaboration with Clinic Director/Nurse Manager (RN)
Position Overview
ClaraVita Medical is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide women’s health, prenatal, and infant care within a life-affirming medical clinic.
This role serves women at critical moments, from routine well-woman visits to early pregnancy care. You will provide evidence-based medical services in a setting that values both clinical excellence and the dignity of every patient. Our model integrates medical care with education, case management, and material support, allowing you to practice medicine in a way that is both thorough and relational.

Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred, especially in women’s health, family practice, or OB/GYN settings
- Confidence in performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, and routine gynecologic care
- Experience in prenatal and/or maternal health strongly preferred
- Strong diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and patient education skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative care model
- Proficiency in EMR systems required, Athenahealth experience preferred
Clinical Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will provide care across a focused women’s health and early pregnancy scope:
- Provide comprehensive well-woman care, including annual exams, Pap smears, STI testing and treatment, and reproductive health education
- Evaluate and manage common gynecologic concerns within scope
- Provide early prenatal care, including assessments, routine visits, and patient education (up to 20 weeks gestation)
- Diagnose and manage common prenatal and postpartum conditions within scope
- Provide newborn and infant wellness support as appropriate to clinic services
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostics
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure appropriate follow-up, continuity of care, and referrals when needed
- Assist in building and strengthening a growing clinical program by remaining flexible in patient care workflows, including rooming patients, collecting specimens, performing blood draws, and supporting basic clinical procedures
- Ultrasound experience or willingness to develop ultrasound skills preferred
Scope of Care
- Prenatal care provided up to 20 weeks gestation
- Referral partnerships for ongoing obstetric care and delivery
- Provides life-affirming medical care and does not provide or refer for abortion services
- Does not prescribe or provide contraception
- Practices within established protocols, standing orders, and state regulations
Care Model & Collaboration
- Practice with appropriate clinical autonomy within established protocols
- Collaborate closely with the Nurse Manager (RN), Medical Director, and clinical team
- Work alongside sonographers, nurses, and client advocates to deliver coordinated care
- Participate in a wraparound care model that integrates medical services, education, and material support
- Contribute to case discussions, care planning, and program development
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
- Document patient care accurately and timely within Athenahealth EMR
· Contribute to clinic growth initiatives, including development of policies and procedures, support for accurate data entry/reporting and EMR optimization, and participation in workflow and scope-of-care discussions as services expand
- Maintain compliance with clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in maintaining exam room readiness, medical supplies, and equipment
- Support development of patient education materials and clinical workflows
- Participate in team meetings and organizational events as needed

- Adhere to AAAHC-aligned standards of care and clinical protocols
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain all licensure and continuing education requirements
- Annually review clinic policies, infection control procedures, and medical guidelines

- Serve women and families in a rural community with limited access to care
- Provide care to patients who may be experiencing uncertainty, fear, or lack of support

Compensation & Structure
