Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prenatal Ultrasound Technician to join our nonprofit mobile unit organization. In this vital role, you will utilize advanced ultrasound imaging technology to perform detailed fetal assessments within the first two trimesters and send reports to the medical director. These ultrasounds are to show a viable pregnancy for women in the MS Delta. Your expertise will help ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby throughout their appointment, delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to life-changing outcomes while honing your specialized skills in prenatal imaging. You must provide proof of license/degree and have worked in performing prenatal ultrasounds before.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality ultrasound examinations focused on fetal development, anatomy, and physiology, ensuring clear and accurate imaging.
  • Collaborate closely with our medical director to interpret ultrasound findings and assist in clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain detailed and precise patient records, documenting imaging procedures, observations, and any abnormalities detected during scans on the report and their online file.
  • Educate expectant mothers about the ultrasound process, addressing questions with empathy and clear communication to foster comfort and understanding.
  • Follow strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols to ensure patient safety and prevent infection during all procedures.
  • Operate advanced medical imaging equipment with proficiency in sonography principles, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic radiology standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in obstetric ultrasound technology, maternal-fetal medicine practices, and relevant medical terminology to provide the highest level of care.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine principles, including fetal physiology and anatomy.
  • Proficiency in obstetric ultrasound techniques (sonography) and diagnostic radiology practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ability to interpret complex medical images accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to obstetrics, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
  • Compassionate patient care skills combined with a professional demeanor in sensitive situations. Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Prenatal Ultrasound Scanning: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required)
