Duties

• Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems and third-party billing platforms
• Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through managed care providers and health insurance portals
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims promptly
• Enter data meticulously into billing software, ensuring all patient and service information is correct
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers via phone and written correspondence to resolve billing issues
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim submissions, adjustments, and payments in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve revenue cycle processes and streamline schedule management for appointments and billing cycles

Qualifications

• Proven experience in healthcare administration or medical billing roles with a focus on revenue cycle management
• Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care plans, and third-party billing procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication purposes
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems and data entry protocols
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and written correspondence
• Solid understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation for billing purposes
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Strong writing skills for documentation, client communication, and internal reports
