What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Guidewire Developers position at Preferred Risk Insurance?
The Guidewire Developer will participate in the development and delivery of our insurance product portfolio on the InsuranceNow platform. We are searching for people who will bring their experience with insurance systems to help us drive the successful delivery of this high visibility, high impact project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product scoping, discovery, hands-on technical input and helping translate user features into system design
- Work in an agile team, pair programming and support deliverables in production
- Development of the all the required functions/features on the InsuranceNow platform
- Receive and provide feedback in code reviews
- Do test-driven development to ensure high confidence in any code you develop
- Collaborate within the Scrum Team to understand the requirements and possible implementation options
- Help develop Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) - Jenkins
- Ability to rapidly absorb new technologies and have the desire to work in a fast-paced environment
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
- 3 to 5 years of experience with Java
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry technical skills
- Guidewire InsuranceNow development experience - preferred
- Knowledge of API development
- Knowledge of JavaScript
- XML processing
- Relational Database Experience (Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, ...)
- Version control with Git
- Clean code practices working within a team environment
- Debugging and Root Cause analysis skills
- Knowledge of P&C Insurance a plus
- Good communication skills
- Strong individual contributor with experience delivering high-quality solutions
- Interest in software / architectural design principles
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- IDE - IntelliJ or Eclipse
- JDK - Amazon Corretto
- API Testing - Postman
- Version Control - Git Hub, SourceTree

Estimated Compensation Range: $90,000/year-$150,000/year*
*Published ranges are estimates. Offered compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location. In addition, starting salary may vary by position depending on whether the position is in-office, hybrid or remote.
