Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately determine project scope and specifications.
  • Execute residential painting projects with precision, including wall coatings, trim work, cabinetry, and fixture installation.
  • Perform commercial painting tasks on large-scale buildings or industrial facilities with attention to safety protocols.
  • Conduct plastering, caulking, stucco application, and masonry work to prepare surfaces for finishing.
  • Engage in renovation projects involving demolition, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, restoration work, and remodeling efforts.
  • Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and materials needed for timely completion.
  • Operate hand tools such as chisels, hammers, saws (including masonry saws), welding equipment (where applicable), and scaffolding setups safely.
  • Apply basic math skills to measure areas accurately and mix paints or compounds to specified ratios.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance throughout projects.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction site activities including concrete finishing, framing, fixture installation, and general maintenance person tasks.
  • Follow safety guidelines diligently while working at heights or in confined spaces on construction sites.

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction painting across residential, commercial, or industrial settings with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for precise project execution.
  • Hands-on experience with various hand tools and power tools used in painting and surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate finishes that meet client specifications and aesthetic goals.
  • Background in plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, or restoration projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read technical documents related to schematics or construction plans confidently.
  • Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety standards is essential.
  • Skills in renovation projects including remodeling work involving carpentry (frame carpentry), trim carpentry, fixture installation, and general maintenance tasks.
