Powder Coating Painter Apprentice

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Powder Coating Painter Apprentice. This is a hands-on apprenticeship program designed to train the right candidate from the ground up. No prior powder coating experience is required—we will teach you the skills needed to become a successful powder coating painter.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is looking for a long-term career with a clear growth path and more frequent pay reviews as skills are developed.

What You’ll Learn
Through structured, on-the-job training, the apprentice will learn:

• Powder coating fundamentals and safety procedures
• Surface preparation (cleaning, masking, racking)
• Proper powder application techniques
• Oven operation and curing processes
• Quality inspection and defect correction
• Equipment care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Production workflow and efficiency standards

Apprenticeship & Pay Progression
This role follows a defined training pathway with regular skill-based evaluations. As competencies are demonstrated and milestones are achieved, pay increases will be reviewed more frequently than in traditional roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced powder coating painters during daily operations
• Prepare parts for coating and finishing
• Apply powder coating under supervision as skills progress
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow safety, quality, and production standards
• Take direction, ask questions, and actively learn the trade

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• No prior powder coating experience required
• Mechanical aptitude or experience in manufacturing a plus
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Attention to detail and quality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [X] lbs
• Reliable attendance and positive attitude

Hours, M-F 6AM-2:30PM with OT

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
