This is completely dependent on the weather; the position may start a little before or after this date.
Preferred Paving LLC. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Screed Machine Operator. As the paving season begins in the Spring we need a hard working operator to join our crew. In this career, you must have the skills to make the pavement as smooth as possible by applying the asphalt to plan specifications and complete projects in a quick and efficient manner while maintain high quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Operate screed to apply asphalt per job specifications
- Make necessary adjustments for obtaining proper depth
- Guide and direct dump trucks while backing up to paver
- Rake and shovel asphalt and gravel
- Maintain equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe job site through the entirety of the project
Qualifications:
- Previous paving and operator experience is REQUIRED
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of paving. Grades, drainage, paving patterns and job specifications.
- Strong work ethic & good attitude
- Willing to work long hours during paving season
