A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ADVANTAGE NURSE RN
As an ADvantage Nurse RN, you work hard to take our in-home care above and beyond. A registered nurse (RN) works hard to promote independence and safety for our patients. You complete initial assessments of the member's needs, including nursing assessments, admission paperwork, and task sheets. Warm and friendly, you educate the patient and their family members regarding our in-home care services, policies, fall-prevention strategies, and nursing-related needs. You communicate with the member and make sure to match them with their choice of provider. As needed, you discuss the care plan and any needed revisions with the member and case manager.
You provide authorized clinical services, which include preparing oral medications or insulin syringes, monitoring skin conditions, and providing nail care for members with certain health conditions. You carefully practice infection control and universal cautions to ensure the safety of everyone you serve.
Conscientiously, you ensure that all documentation is completed in accordance with our organizational policy. On a regular basis, you re-evaluate patient needs and implement changes as needed. With attention to detail, you assure compliance with all necessary standards and initiate appropriate intervention with office personnel on PCA performance as needed. You are always careful to ensure member and employee confidentiality. Your in-home care job may be challenging, but it brings you great satisfaction. You are proud to make a difference in the lives of members, their families, and the communities we serve!
