What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Preferred Moving & Storage, Inc.?
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector with a strong background in mechanical and dimensional inspection. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with a wide range of inspection tools and technologies. Proficiency in blueprint reading, understanding of GD&T, and experience with quality documentation standards such as First Article Inspections (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is essential.
- Manage and maintain customer web portals, including updating contact information, responding to part quality complaints, monitoring customer scorecards, determining corrective or recourse actions for negative ratings, and completing requalification sections in line with customer requirements
- Prepare and deliver monthly customer scorecards to the Head of Quality Engineering for inclusion in plant-level KPIs
- Analyze internal (Q-wall) and external sorting data and lead cross-functional teams—including production—to reduce or eliminate sorting activities
- Track and review monthly sales deductions for assigned projects and link them to related customer complaints
- Maintain and update test plans and control plans for assigned products
- Apply quality methods, practices, and procedures in compliance with customer requirements, internal Quality Management Systems (QMS), and applicable standards such as IATF 16949, EN/ISO 14001, and VDA 6.3

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally within injection molding, paint, or assembly operations
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer-specific requirements (CSRs)
- Strong understanding of Core Quality Tools, including SPC, MSA, Control Plans, FMEA/PFMEA, and 8D methodologies
- Experience supporting OEM customers such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz (MBUSI), Volkswagen, and BMW
- Proficiency with relevant software and systems, including MS Office, Minitab, QMS platforms, and customer portals

Pay: $70, $85,000.00 per year
