Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Wayne, IN. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, including processing accounts payable and receivable, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling bank and general ledger accounts. The Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end closing, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and prepare financial reports for management review. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies, and collaborating with operations and project teams to track job costs and project financial performance.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in general accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), Excel, and other financial reporting tools.
- Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and job cost tracking, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of GAAP, basic tax principles, and financial compliance requirements.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations, project managers, and leadership.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in construction, industrial services, or a project-based environment is beneficial.
