The Nuclear Medicine Technologist administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, performs screening procedures, and maintains procedure quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes using specialized equipment.
- Performs diagnostic screening procedures and documents all relevant information.
- Obtains patient information and communicates preparation instructions.
- Ensures compliance with safety and departmental protocols.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Diploma or certificate in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited school (required).
- State Nuclear Medicine License (required in CA and HI).
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB (required in CA and OR).
- Venipuncture certification (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Strong attention to detail, patient care skills, and adherence to safety standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with healthcare team members.
