We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Journeyman to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. This role requires versatility and experience with all phases of commercial construction, specifically encompassing both ground-up new builds and interior fit-up/renovation projects.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Repair: Install, bend, thread, and run conduit (EMT, IMC, Rigid, PVC). Pull electrical wiring and cables through conduit and trays. Splice wires and terminate/connect wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment, and components.System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot electrical systems, including lighting controls, motor controls, distribution panels, and various types of commercial-grade electrical equipment.Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine the layouts of wiring and equipment.Code Compliance: Ensure all work performed is compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations. Must be knowledgeable about safety protocols (e.g., OSHA standards).Project Variety: Capable of working effectively in different project phases and environments, including initial site setup/rough-in on new construction (ground-up) and precise, clean finish work during tenant improvements and fit-ups.Collaboration: Work alongside other tradespeople and communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and general contractors to maintain project schedules.Material Handling: Manage tools and materials efficiently, ensuring the workspace remains clean, organized, and safe.Quality Assurance: Conduct final checks and testing of installed systems to ensure functionality and safety standards are met.QualificationsLicense: Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License/Certification required.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a commercial electrician, with specific experience in both ground-up construction and fit-up/renovation projects.Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory, all wiring methods, and local NEC codes.Skills: Proficient in using various electrical and diagnostic tools (e.g., voltmeters, ammeters, conduit benders, wire pullers, etc.).Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights (ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, reliability, and excellent communication skills.
