As a mortgage loan officer, you will serve Credit Union members as their trusted advisor throughout the home financing process whether they are applying for a mortgage to buy their first home, or refinancing or renovating their forever home, you'll be there to help the members determine the best options and next steps for their unique goals.
Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide guidance to members on loan products and rates.
- Managing mortgage loan origination and processing.
- Loan analysis and underwriting preparation.
- Coordinate loan documentation, closing and servicing.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and licensing requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Ability to establish trust, communicate effectively, and provide exceptional service to members throughout the mortgage process.
- Strong financial analysis and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, secondary market requirements, interest rates, escrow accounts, and loan servicing processes.
- Skill in identifying issues, resolving documentation deficiencies, and guiding members through complex lending situations.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending regulations, disclosure requirements, and NMLS licensing standards.
- Prior experience working in a Credit Union preferred.
