Preferred Business Systems is a New Jersey-based office technology company serving businesses with copier/MFP equipment sales and managed IT/VoIP services. We're looking for a hands-on, customer-focused professional to join our copier division as a Delivery & Installation Technician.
Position Summary
The Copier Delivery & Installation Technician is responsible for the physical delivery, preflighting, setup, and installation of copier/MFP equipment at customer sites. This role is customer-facing and requires someone who takes pride in a clean, professional installation and leaves every client with a positive first impression of PBS equipment and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver copiers and multifunction printers to customer locations safely and on schedule
- Preflight machines prior to delivery — unboxing, initial setup, and testing to confirm proper function before arriving on-site
- Install and configure equipment at customer locations, including network/connectivity setup (wired and wireless network connections, print drivers, scan-to-email/folder setup)
- Physically move, lift, and position equipment (machines can be heavy and require use of dollies, ramps, and proper lifting technique)
- Walk customers through basic machine operation and answer initial questions on-site
- Coordinate with the sales and service teams on delivery scheduling and any installation issues
- Maintain company vehicle and delivery equipment (dollies, straps, tools) in good working order
- Represent PBS professionally in every customer interaction — this role is often the first hands-on impression a client has of our company
- Complete delivery/installation paperwork and update internal systems as needed
- Assist in warehouse duties when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in copier/office equipment delivery, installation, or a similar technical field role
- Working knowledge of network connectivity — setting up devices on wired and Wi-Fi networks, basic troubleshooting of connection issues
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs, with team lifting for larger units) on a regular basis
- Excellent customer service skills and professional, courteous demeanor
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and pride in doing the job right the first time
- Ability to work independently and manage a delivery schedule
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and delivery equipment (dollies, ramps, straps)

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
