What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Laborer position at Preferred Asphalt, Inc?
YOU MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE.
ASPHALT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. PLEASE INCLUDE DETAILED ASPHALT EXPERIENCE ON YOUR RESUME.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the application of asphalt on roadways/parking lots/driveways.
- Work well with other crew members as a team.
- Learn basic precautions for his/her own personal safety and the safety of co-workers to be observed when using the various tools and equipment.
Daily Responsibilities May Include:
· Patch and resurface roads
· Clean & sweep roadway, curb, gutter, and sidewalk
· Load, transport, and unload equipment, supplies, and materials
· Pick up trash and debris from construction areas.
· Maintain Traffic (Flagger)
· Maintain and clean hand tools, power tools, equipment, vehicles, etc.
Other Requirements:
- Employees must maintain the necessary health and physical ability to perform the duties of this position.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all types of weather, especially extreme heat.
- Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and paving protocols
- Applicants with a valid driver’s license may be eligible for higher hourly pay.
- Asphalt experience is a plus, but not required.
