Job Hours=Tuesday thru Sunday 6 am to 3 pm --off Mondays

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team at Preferred Asphalt, a leading asphalt service provider. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with asphalt-related machinery, hydraulic and electrical systems, and general vehicle repairs. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and Maintenance of Asphalt Equipment:
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on asphalt paving equipment, rollers, mixers, and other heavy machinery.
• Fleet Vehicle Maintenance:

Conduct repairs and maintenance on service vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are in top working order for on-time deliveries and transportation.

• Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

Use diagnostic tools to assess and identify mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical issues. Troubleshoot problems and carry out necessary repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment to extend service life and reduce unexpected breakdowns.Assist in the fabrication of custom parts for equipment as needed. Modify or fabricate components to meet specific operational requirements.Manage parts inventory and ensure that necessary tools, equipment, and replacement parts are readily available for repairs.Ensure that all work is done following safety guidelines and company policies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the Shop Manager and other team members to ensure smooth operations and address maintenance issues in a timely manner.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair, ideally in the asphalt, construction, or heavy equipment industries. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is preferred.
• Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals.Ability to troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on heavy machinery and vehicles.

• Certification:

ASE certification or similar qualification is preferred.Welding or fabrication skills are a plus.

• Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions as needed.Comfortable working in a workshop environment, including occasional exposure to heat, dust, and noise.

• Additional:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $27.34 - $30.00 per hour
