We are hiring a dependable and skilled Lube Technician to join our team at Precision Tune Auto Care. This position is perfect for someone who has hands-on automotive experience, works well in a fast-paced environment, and wants long-term growth in the auto repair industry.
Position Summary
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing high-quality preventative maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and vehicle inspections. This role requires attention to detail, strong work habits, and the ability to follow established shop procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes and preventative maintenance services accurately and efficiently
- Conduct multi-point inspections: brakes, tires, fluids, filters, belts
- Perform tire services: air pressure, rotations, repairs (if trained)
- Replace wiper blades, bulbs, air filters, and cabin filters
- Assist higher-level technicians as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service bay
- Safely operate customer vehicles
- Communicate any safety concerns or required repairs to Service Writers
- Follow all shop safety protocols and procedures
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs routinely (tires, wheels, oil cases)
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
- Basic automotive knowledge (oil change process, tire service, fluid checks, etc.)
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and repair guidelines
- Strong attention to detail — no rushing, no shortcuts
- Professional, respectful attitude with customers and team
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Considered)
- 6 months of experience in an auto shop, dealership, or quick lube
- Experience with tire mounting/balancing
- Experience performing fluid exchanges
- Basic understanding of vehicle systems
- Desire to grow into a full technician role
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, tools, and moving vehicles
- Ability to perform tasks in hot or cold temperatures
- Must be comfortable handling automotive fluids and chemicals safely
