You'll lead field crews on transportation, utility, renewable energy, commercial development, and infrastructure projects throughout Colorado using robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, drones, terrestrial scanners, and LiDAR technology. What You'll Be Doing
As a Survey Crew Chief, you'll lead field crews performing a wide variety of surveying assignments throughout Colorado. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and mentoring field crew personnel
- Boundary Surveys
- Topographic Surveys
- ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Construction staking
- Utility and infrastructure surveys
- Survey control establishment and verification
- Collecting accurate field data using robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, and digital data collectors
- Operating UAVs, terrestrial scanners, and LiDAR equipment on applicable projects
- Coordinating daily activities with Project Managers and Survey Technicians
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring company safety standards are followed
- Building professional relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years of land surveying field experience
- Minimum two years as a Survey Crew Chief or similar leadership position
- Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, construction staking, control, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Experience with Total Stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, levels, and data collectors
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel throughout Colorado, including occasional overnight assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLSS monument recovery and retracement surveys
- Experience on transportation, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Experience with UAVs, terrestrial scanning, mobile mapping, or LiDAR
- CAD or office processing experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk extended distances across construction sites and undeveloped terrain
- Ability to lift and carry survey equipment and supplies
