What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Technician position at Precision Structural Iron?
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in repairing vehicles in a collision repair environment, be knowledgeable in and capable of completing all aspects of body and frame repair including minor outer body cosmetic repair, replacements of bolt on parts, replacement of weld on body and structural components, and strong mechanical aptitude for automotive repair and restoration.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complete tear down of repair area and participate in developing complete, accurate repair plan for each vehicle.
- Complete repairs according to vehicle manufacture specifications.
- Mirror match new parts for accuracy and quality after they are checked in.
- Work with other members of production staff in order to meet repair completion target dates.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto body repair or a related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various automotive issues
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and equipment handling
- Experience in auto painting and finishing techniques is a plus
- Skills in soldering, welding, and general mechanic work are highly desirable
- Knowledge of auto restoration processes is beneficial
