Precision Pumping Systems is hiring for a Materials Handler Courier.
Job Summary:
The materials handler courier will perform the tasks necessary to keep production operating smoothly and without interruption to ensure customer needs and production schedules are met. They are responsible for supporting daily production needs and providing expedient procurement and delivery of material from various vendors and custom locations. This position is self-directed and collaborative. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits.
Essential Job Functions:
The MHC will be responsible for driving to and from various vendor and custom locations to procure materials to assist with production. They will primarily perform the duties of a production runner/delivery driver, as well as assist the production team with additional miscellaneous duties in and around the shop as needed.
Truck Operations:
- Choosing the appropriate vehicle to meet the demands of the current task.
- Organizing and storing tie down equipment.
- Assessing tire viability and performing routine tire pressure checks.
- Assessing vehicle condition, identifying and reporting maintenance concerns.
- Ensuring vehicle cleanliness after each use.
Trailer Items:
- Choosing the appropriate trailer for the load being transported.
- Choosing the correct hitch adapter for the trailer selected.
- Performing routine trailer inspection to ensure tires, spare tire and jack, tire pressure, battery condition, and lift check, if applicable, meet safety standards and requirements.
- Selecting the appropriate hitch position and trailer level prior to transporting materials.
Materials Handling Items:
- Checking to ensure proper packaging of items to be transported.
- Properly sizing all loading and unloading equipment.
- Ensuring correct load balance and weight distribution for each load.
- Selecting the appropriate tie down equipment and gauging the correct number and size of tie downs needed.
- Properly secure all loads to be transported and perform a final inspection for any loose parts.
- Use of our OS system for receipt and inspection of items.
- Perform quality inspections upon receipt to assess any potential damage and to check for quantity discrepancies prior to possession and delivery.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience driving a one-ton pickup and 20' or longer trailer or equivalent.
- HS Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Valid US Drivers License.
- Clean MVR (motor vehicle report)/driving record.
- Experience using hand/power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Forklift experience preferred.
- CDL a plus.
- Excellent follow-through and communication skills.
- Experience with organizing, cleaning, and attention to detail.
- Ability to drive vehicles and coordinate traffic while navigating unfamiliar roads.
- Excellence in coordinating details.
Job Type: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
