Summary
Responsible for benefit verification, pre-registration, and financial counseling for scheduled outpatient and inpatient services. Ensures demographic accuracy, confirms insurance eligibility, completes Medicare requirements, and obtains/arranges patient financial responsibility prior to arrival.
Essential Duties
- Meet accuracy and productivity benchmarks for verification and preadmission processing.
- Perform benefit verification, MSP questionnaires, Medicare eligibility checks, and obtain ABNs.
- Verify demographics/benefits; explain benefits and collect patient responsibility.
- Deliver compassionate, efficient customer service.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of hospital payment options and cashiering functions.
- Knowledge of verification, pre-certification, and medical necessity requirements.
- Experience in Admissions/Patient Accounts preferred.
- Working knowledge of Meditech, MSM, and MNO.
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands / Requirements
- Fast-paced office environment; exposure to typical healthcare setting conditions.
- Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing/pulling; ability to operate office equipment.
- Typing competency test required.
Schedule
- Primarily 0530-1330 shift rotating weekends and some holidays. Shifts time stagger and could be 0530, 0630, 0730, 0830.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
