Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Micro Lab Technician to join our team. This role involves supporting laboratory operations focused on microbiological and molecular biology analyses within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, compliance with GLP and CGMP standards, and experience working in clinical laboratories. - Prepare and process samples for analytical and microbiological testing of nutritional products, raw ingredients, and environmental surfaces.
- Apply approved microbiological techniques and standardized methodologies to perform accurate and reliable analytical testing.
- Prepare and analyze samples for indicator organisms, pathogenic microorganisms, and related chemical assays.
- FTIR analysis on raw ingredients for identity
- Assist in producing lab reports for equipment qualifications, process validation, and white paper studies
- Apply aseptic techniques consistently to ensure accuracy and prevent contamination during daily laboratory operations.
- Prepare, maintain, and verify media, reagents, and supplies required for routine microbiological analysis.
- Monitor inventory of consumables and promptly report or reorder materials needed to meet testing demands.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance by cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and disposing of waste safely.
- Conduct quality control procedures including incubator temperature checks, control organism inoculations, media verification, and other required QC activities.
- Independently carry out assigned laboratory processes, procedures, and techniques in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and client requirements.
- Maintain orderly laboratory conditions, ensuring equipment functionality, adequate supplies, adherence to quality assurance programs, and accurate recordkeeping for all activities.
- Execute all tasks in a clean, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner while following established safety protocols.
- Communicate findings and relevant information openly, clearly, and in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing daily priorities and schedules to support both individual objectives and team goals, actively contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure personal and team safety by following all safety guidelines and maintaining awareness of potential hazards.
- Assist with researching and implementing new methodologies.
- Assist with calibration and monitoring programs for all in-house laboratory instrumentation.
- Assure MSDS sheets are updated when applicable.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience working in a cGMP/GLP environment.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting.
- Experience with FDA compliance
- Analytical laboratory experience
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills with
- Ability to multitask while working under restrictive timelines
- Color vision and depth perception
- Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
- Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory
EDUCATION GUIDELINES & PREFERENCES
- Associate degree. STEM college level coursework preferred
- 2 years’ minimum of experience in laboratory environment, such as Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, and/or Cosmetic, or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
