What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Precision Nutra?
Job Summary
Precision Nutra is a cGMP dietary supplement manufacturer in Tempe, AZ and we're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to keep our equipment and facility running.
If you can troubleshoot a filler mid-run, knock out a line changeover, and also handle the building repairs that come up along the way — we want to talk to you.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on packaging and manufacturing equipment: encapsulation, blenders, stick pack and sachet machines, capsule counters, powder fillers, cappers, induction sealers, labelers, cartoners, conveyors.
- Run efficient changeovers between bottle sizes and SKUs
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and minimize line downtime
- Maintain blenders, compressed air, dust collection, and other production support equipment
- Handle general building maintenance — HVAC, plumbing, lighting/electrical — or coordinate outside contractors
- Complete work orders and PM records accurately (documentation matters in a GMP facility)
- Follow cGMP, lockout/tagout, and safety procedures
What we're looking for:
- 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience on automated packaging or production equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills; comfortable with pneumatics and basic electrical
- Able to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
- Self-directed, dependable, and able to communicate clearly with production staff
- High school diploma or GED
Experience requirements:
- Experience in supplement, food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- cGMP knowledge
- Basic PLC/VFD troubleshooting
- Forklift certification
Physical requirements: Standing and walking most of the shift; lifting up to 50 lbs; ladder and lift work; PPE required (lab coat, hairnet, beard cover, mask, safety glasses).
