Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate EKG Technician to join our cardiac diagnostics team. The EKG Tech will be responsible for administering electrocardiograms (EKGs), preparing patients for testing, and ensuring the accurate capture and transmission of cardiac data for physician review.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and stat electrocardiograms (EKGs) in accordance with physician orders and company protocols.
- Apply and remove Holter/event monitors as needed.
- Ensure proper placement of EKG leads and accurate capture of cardiac rhythms.
- Monitor EKG equipment for functionality and maintenance needs.
- Verify patient information and obtain necessary consents.
- Maintain clear and accurate patient records in electronic health systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to HIPAA and infection control guidelines at all times.
- Assist with patient scheduling and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited EKG Technician training program preferred.
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or equivalent certification preferred (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Previous experience in EKG, telemetry, or cardiac monitoring is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
