1st Shift Mold Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary Function of the Mold Operator is, under moderate supervision, operate an over-molding press to obtain products according to Precision Medical Industries and/or customer specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):

· Prepare and load substrate or cores in the molding dies and deliver the appropriate amount of over mold liquid silicone rubber material

· Unload, stabilize, and inspect molded parts.

· Prepare silicone material per specification or requirements.

· Select and install the appropriate mold die for the product in production.

· Inspect and Identify defects on the mold dies.

· Other duties will include in-process inspection, cleaning, and assembly of parts.

· Complete daily, weekly or bi-weekly inspection logs per work instruction.

· Can read and understand shop traveler, and identify any special process or work instruction specified.

· Ability to follow safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.

· Display mechanical aptitude.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints.

· Basic math skills.

· Strong teamwork skills

· Ability to utilize standard hand tools (Knives, Tap & Die, Wrenches)

NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):

· Experienced using computers ( data acquisition )

· Previous Over mold or injection mold experience.

· Previous metal polishing skills and equipment use a plus.

· Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.

· Eyesight and hearing must be correctable to a standard level.

· Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours per day.

· Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs and up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
