Precision-Med Biomedical Solutions is seeking a motivated, dependable Field Service Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring healthcare facilities can safely and reliably care for patients. This is a hands-on, customer-facing field service position requiring technical skill, accountability, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Biomedical Equipment Service & Repair:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections (PMs) and performance assurance inspections (PAIs) to ensure equipment operates safely, accurately, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace complex biomedical equipment and system components.
- Test, calibrate, and verify equipment performance using appropriate test equipment, service manuals, schematics, and industry standards.
- Install, inspect, and adjust a wide range of biomedical and clinical equipment in hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, and long-term care facilities.
- Accurately identify equipment malfunctions and determine root cause.
Field Service & Customer Support:
- Serve as a professional on-site representative of Precision-Med Biomedical Solutions at customer facilities.
- Communicate clearly with clinical staff, administrators, and vendors regarding equipment status, repairs, and recommendations.
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner and manage assigned territory efficiently.
- Maintain strong customer relationships built on trust, reliability, and technical competence.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Complete all service documentation accurately, thoroughly, and on time, including work orders, PM reports, and compliance records.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations, hospital policies, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
- Maintain service records to support regulatory audits, accreditation requirements, and internal quality standards.
Safety, Tools & Company Assets:
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in clinical and non-clinical environments.
- Properly use, care for, and maintain tools, test equipment, and company-issued assets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle.
- Identify needed parts and materials and coordinate ordering through company processes.
Professional Accountability:
- Manage workload independently while maintaining communication with leadership and administrative staff.
- Be available for occasional after-hours or on-call service as required.
- Represent company values through professionalism and company core values.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related technical field, or equivalent military technical training.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience servicing medical equipment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, electronic test equipment, and calibration devices.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong computer skills, including service documentation systems and basic software tools.
- Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned service territory.
Preferred:
- CBET certification (or willingness to obtain within one year).
- Experience in a hospital or clinical field service environment.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
