What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator- Industrial position at Precision Material Handling Equipment?
Job Summary:
The Laser Operator position is responsible for operating sheet metal laser and various machinery involved in production of material necessary for manufacturing welded steel racks.
Duties:
· Set up and use 3 axis BLM sheet metal laser to cut parts to specifications, clear, troubleshoot and restart programs as needed
· Prepare material for production- may include loading, unloading, lifting and moving material
· Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities- sweep, mop, removed debris
· Follow all company rules and policies
· Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
· Follow all safety rules and quality standards
· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
· Provide manufacturing support as required
Abilities and Skills:
· Must have basic knowledge of Siemens laser software, hand and power tools
· Must have strong measuring skills using tape measures
· Must have basic blueprint reading and math skills
· Must use Personal Protective Equipment required for Laser Operators
· Must be versatile and able to adapt to daily requirements
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work independently
· Willing to work in excess of 40 hours a week
Education/Experience
· 0-1 year of general work experience in laser operation in machine shop preferred
