Welding Fabrication Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welding Fabrication Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing precision welding, fitting, and fabrication work on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have strong TIG welding skills, experience working from technical drawings, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work that meets dimensional and cosmetic requirements. MIG welding experience is also preferred.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, prints, schematics, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials as required.
- Fit, align, and assemble fabricated components according to drawings and dimensional requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare metal materials for welding and assembly.
- Operate fabrication equipment and tools, including plasma cutters, grinders, saws, press brakes, drills, and other shop equipment.
- Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect completed welds and assemblies for workmanship, dimensions, appearance, and conformance to specifications.
- Identify and correct fabrication or fit-up issues before final welding.
- Safely handle and position materials using appropriate lifting and material-handling equipment.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in clean and safe operating condition.
- Follow company safety procedures.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality personnel to resolve fabrication questions and improve manufacturing processes.
- Support other welding, fabrication, and production activities as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a welding, metal fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in TIG welding, with MIG welding experience preferred.
- Ability to produce clean, consistent, and high-quality welds.
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of proper material preparation, joint fit-up, welding sequence, and distortion control.
- Experience using common metalworking hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to accurately use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, and other measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of shop math, measurements, fractions, decimals, angles, and tolerances.
- Familiarity with AWS welding standards is preferred.
- ASME welding or fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or material-handling experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a manufacturing team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment associated with welding and fabrication work.
- Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work around welding fumes, sparks, heat, noise, and manufacturing equipment.
